Sunday.

Jessie Mine – I have been doing a guard duty on the vehicles for five hours this evening, and now I have little time for my letter… But I really have nothing to tell you, so a short letter would have been inevitable anyway.

This morning, we learned that the authorities have decided that the entire remnants of the exhibition (excluding a small rear party) have to leave Paris by Aug. 11th at the latest. So it now seems pretty definite that we tank fellows will be en route any time between tomorrow and Saturday. It is probable that the tank crews will accompany the vehicles to Antwerp, and then disperse to their various units… But this is not yet an official order… Perhaps the ‘great silence’ about our move will be relaxed at any moment, and then I will be able to give you a little news… Meanwhile, we just carry on… waiting and guessing… And those of us who have sweethearts have to fret and fume because we have no mail. But I can take it… I will have more than letters soon… much more.

Good night, Jess dear –
Remember me to Barry – and tell him I will be with him soon… to help him play with his treasures.
Always – I love you
Your Trevy.
