Thursday.

Jessie Darling: I must tell you this while I remember… I have been forgetting it for the past week. You will soon be receiving £5 from someone called Ormiston… but it will not be for you, dear. I want you to re-direct it to Mrs. F. Hodson, 171 Bury New Rd, BREIGHTMET, BOLTON. You may receive crossed P./o’s, in which case it will be O.K. for you to send a cheque to Mrs. Hodson: you will know what to do. To explain what all this is about would take some time… and would necessitate a long discussion of high finance – B.A.O.R. variety! so I will leave you to do the necessary in blissful ignorance of the why and wherefore. When you re-forward the money, you might include a note stating simply that it is from Sgt. Greenwood of the 9th.

And now I don’t know what to say – I have no news for you, darling… and I don’t feel a bit like letter writing just now. I think I will go to bed a little earlier this evening: it will do me no harm to be in bed before midnight.

Yes… I will leave you… and go and dream about you… and Popett…
Goodnight, Jessie Mine
I love you, dear

Always –
Your Trevy.
