Jess dear,<\/p>\n

Have little time for writing, but thought you would like to know that I have landed safely, but am still ‘en-route’.<\/p>\n

Marjorie (RTG’s sister)<\/em> and Fred were waiting for me at Euston last evening: train arrived about 7.00 pm. We went to a restaurant (Coventry St. Corner House) and had a reasonable meal after queuing up for a while. Fred looked better than I expected, although he is thinner and rather more pale. Marjorie was the same as usual: she never seems to alter one way or another. She had a 100 box of cigarettes for me: they were very welcome as I had very few with me.<\/p>\n

Cannot say much about my leave under these circumstances but I know you will understand when I say thank you for all you did for me… And thank you too, darling, for what you have done for Barry… He is better than my wildest hopes… But I will say more about him later.<\/p>\n
