England.<\/p>\n<p>18.6.44<\/p>\n<p>Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Jess dear, Once again, I have practically nothing to tell you. This has been a typical Sunday&#8230; with most of the fellows half asleep all day&#8230; and a church parade for volunteers this morning.<\/p>\n<p>I have spent a fair amount of time reading (mystery yarns, magazines: anything to occupy the mind) and have also had an enjoyable hot shower. No further mails have arrived, much to my regret, but I have a conviction that everything is alright at home, so I am not <strong>worried<\/strong> by this absence of news. All the same, I would love to know just how you are faring&#8230; and your latest antics with the nipper.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow is June 19th&#8230; a date which means so much to you and I. I know you will not need reminding of this delightful anniversary, my dear&#8230; but I have had to mention it in case I am unable to write tomorrow. You will remember your prophetic thought&#8230; and you will be only too well aware of its fulfilment&#8230; and I know we are alike in having no regrets whatever. I am only sorry I cannot be with you to celebrate the occasion more suitably.
