Friday evening.

Jess dear,

We are still officially enjoying a fairly quiet time… and as usual I am quite well… and have no complaints to make… Or perhaps I should say that I could fill a volume with complaints of one sort or another, but this would do no good so I will save my energy.

The day has been fairly fine here… with little to worry us and not much sign of war… apart from the frequent bursts of firing from our artillery and a certian amount of aerial activity. To detract us still further from our warlike environment, we have actually had a visit today from a Naafi mobile canteen… and this evening there is a cinema show in a local barn. I believe the picture is ” A Yank at Oxford”.

But what interests me is a delightful piano concerto which I am listening to at present… via the radio on my vehicle. I have suspended the headphones down the side… and am enjoying an open air concert. It is a B.B.C. programme… and the time is 7.45 pm. Can you trace this concerto for me? I do not know it, but am much impressed by it. It may be one of Mozart’s.

More tomorrow…

Au revoir, my dear

Yours always,

Trevy.
