Jessie Mine: I did not write to you yesterday… and have almost missed writing to you this evening… but I must ease my conscience – even though it is very late.
I went to a cinema show last night – and that seemed to mess up the whole evening. And, tonight, we have had a darts match in the mess – some of the sergeants playing some of the troopers, and conditions have not been too good. However, here we are, and I want to tell you dear, that I feel a pig for neglecting you like this. (…)
Tomorrow evening, Saturday, there will be the usual Squadron dance, and so the mess will be a little more peaceful – for a change. I will then be able to talk to you – lots and lots.
Meanwhile, I must leave you darling.
I’m sleepy… and want to have time for at least a few minutes thinking about you before I fall asleep.
I love you Jess…
Always
Your Trevy.
